Millennium BCP
Millennium bcp is the largest private financial group in Portugal. In October 2003, it merged its Banco Comercial Português, Nova Rede, Atlântico and Sottomayor brands in a new single brand – Millennium bcp. Less than a year later, its goals were achieved. It effected a symbolic change that reflects a real change in the operational structures – effectively re-founding the bank, strengthening the internal culture around the values that made Banco Comercial Português an international success story. Clients have benefited the most from this change. During the past year, Millennium bcp grew in terms of credit and deposits and consolidated leadership in internet banking. A segmentation policy-refining programme strengthened capacity for innovation in products and commercial relation practices. The bank’s marketing strategy repositioned it as an open institution, attentive to people and strongly committed to creating value for clients and shareholders. “We are a young bank that integrates great historical banks and assumes the responsibility of continuing to make history in Portugal,” says CEO Jorge Jardim Goncalves.
