Beijing tops The Banker's top five international financial centres by banking assets ranking by some margin.
Beijing is the largest international financial centre (IFC) by banking assets, according to data from The Banker Database. With assets totaling $13,283bn, the Chinese city is home to almost double the amount of bank capital as second placed Tokyo, which has $7962bn.
The largest IFC outside of Asia is London, which has $6996bn in bank assets. It is closely followed by the French capital, Paris, which has some $6644bn. Rounding off the list is New York. The US city is home to $6608bn in banking assets.
