1. What makes your country attractive to investors?

Lithuania is in the fastest growing EU region, country growth is above the EU average, there is a good investment climate and intelligent labour force, and an attractive geographical location. Lithuania is also expecting to join EMU by 2007.

2. What are the economic prospects for your country over the next three to five years?

GDP is growing at 6% a year and will continue to grow over the next three years, while the inflation rate is expected to remain at a level of 2.5%-3.5% a year.

3. How do you foresee the financial sector in your country changing?

The financial sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in Lithuania and volumes are expected to double within three years due to low penetration rates. Profitability will remain at the same level or increase.

4. What role will your bank play in your country’s future development?

Hansabankas will continue to be an active player in economic development, providing financing and high standard services for all customers to grow businesses and increase the country’s standard of living.
