The EU is at a crossroads when it comes to capital markets. It must either take decisive action to help European corporations get better funding, or lose further ground to international peers.

This is the headline warning from a major new report by the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) published this month. The trade body published the sixth edition of the Capital Markets Union – Key Performance Indicators report, which tracks the progress of Europe’s capital markets against nine key performance indicators (KPIs).
