Marking its 175th anniversary this year, financial advisory and asset management company Lazard has come a long way from its founding in New Orleans by three sons of a family of French peddlers. The company is proud of its long history, and the anniversary comes at a transitional time both for Lazard and global financial markets.
Nick Fowler, managing director of equity capital markets (ECM) and co-head of ECM for Europe at Lazard, has been with the company for two decades and describes himself as “an element of continuity” in its equity advisory team. His remit involves a range of advisory work, including advising on initial public offerings (IPOs) and other capital-raising activities for clients, as well as working with “upstream, late-stage private” unlisted companies in partnership with the firm’s venture and growth banking team.
