Are B Corps the answer to failing sustainability programmes?

In 1994, sustainability leader John Elkington coined the term ‘the triple bottom line’ (TBL) — a sustainability framework that examines a company’s social, environmental and economic impact.  

But 25 years later, he issued the equivalent of a product recall, saying: “TBL’s stated goal from the outset was system change — pushing toward the transformation of capitalism. It was never supposed to be just an accounting system.”
