The Mongolian government was an active bond issuer in 2023, coming to the market twice, despite the challenging geopolitical tensions for a country situated between Russia and China. 

At the start of last year, Mongolia sold a five-year $650mn bond and said it was the first single-B rated issuer from Asia-Pacific to successfully enter the international debt markets in 2023. At the end of the year, Mongolia sold another five-year bond which raised $350mn.
