Gender equity needs more than anti-bias training

More meaningful data and better processes to hire and manage staff will help improve both gender balance and the bottom line.

Imagine a modern-day family, where parents were about to send their children to school. There would be no question that most parents would try to send their children to the best school and encourage them to speak their minds openly, no matter their gender. These parents would be highly insulted if it was suggested that they would behave otherwise. 

Despite this, the same cannot always be said for company culture. Given how the schooling scenario is a no-brainer, why is there such a large delta between workplaces where management needs to work hard to promote gender diversity and those where gender inclusion happens effortlessly and automatically?
