From investment banker to corporate banker and now transaction banker. Alex Manson, group head of transaction banking at Standard Chartered began his career as a man focused on chasing deals but, these days, he says it is all about building relationships.

Mr Manson has been in his current role since April 2014, a few months after Standard Chartered announced its restructuring and reshuffle of its senior executives. Prior to this role, he was the group head for wholesale banking geographies for the emerging markets bank.

His career has seen him work in the US, Europe and Asia, for a number of well-known brands in the banking industry. Prior to joining Standard Chartered in 2012, he worked for Deutsche Bank for 12 years and Credit Suisse for seven. In this podcast, he explains how the needs of his clients are changing and the structural shifts that are underway in the transaction banking industry.
