Now in its third year, The Banker Technology Awards  celebrate the technologies that show innovation, return on investment, integration with strategy and improvement in customer relations. The unprecedented level of entries this year – from both the banking and provider communities – has shown that technology development is well and truly back on the priority list in financial services.

The evening itself, hosted by Richard Quest of CNN, was a huge success with over 270 attendees. A survey was carried out during the night, using a texting system supplied by LogicaCMG, asking which technology would be the most important for banking over the next 12 months. Of the options available, 10% thought it would be Linux, 12% believed it would be XML, 8% considered it to be J2EE and 25% said voice over IP would be the most important. But the clear winner was service-oriented architecture – receiving 45% of the vote.

The Banker would like to congratulate all of those companies who won or were highly commended at the awards, along with our esteemed panel of judges and the attendees on the night.
