Carmen Haddad, vice chair, Middle East wealth and banking – Citi

Citi has promoted long-serving executive Carmen Haddad to vice chair of its Middle East wealth and banking business. She will transition from her current role as Citi country officer (CCO) for Saudi Arabia by the end of the year. 

Ms Haddad joined Citi’s private banking business in 2000. She served as the family office head for one of Citi’s major shareholders and later assumed the role of CCO for Citi’s franchise in Qatar from 2013 to 2017. She has been CCO for Citi’s franchise in Saudi Arabia since 2017.

Michel-Alain Proch, chief financial officer – London Stock Exchange Group

The London Stock Exchange Group has named Michel-Alain Proch as its new chief financial officer. He will take up the position in March 2024, succeeding Anna Manz, who will step down from its board and leave the group. 

Mr Proch is currently group chief financial officer for Publicis Groupe. Before that, he served as chief financial officer at Hermès, Ingenico and Atos. He is also vice chair of the board at Maisons du Monde.

Ruchir Sharma, global head of foreign exchange option trading – Nomura

Nomura has appointed Ruchir Sharma as global head of its foreign exchange option trading business. He joins Nomura from Deutsche Bank, where he was Asia-Pacific co-head of global foreign exchange. Prior to that, he served as head of Asia-Pacific foreign exchange trading at Credit Suisse for more than a decade.

Mr Sharma will be responsible for leading the division’s growth and development, with a focus on enhancing both the bank’s client franchise offering and trading capabilities. Based in London, he will report to Kevin Connors, co-head of global foreign exchange and emerging markets.

Jean-Baptiste Patois, head of equity derivatives ex-strategic derivatives, Asia-Pacific – Barclays

Barclays has appointed Jean-Baptiste Patois as head of equity derivatives ex-strategic derivatives, Asia-Pacific. He will be tasked with leading on exotics and flow derivatives. Based in Hong Kong, he will report regionally to Hossein Zaimi, Asia-Pacific head of markets, as well as Ashish Prabhudesai, global head of structured derivatives and non-US flow. 

Mr Patois joins Barclays from Nomura in Hong Kong, where he led their Asia equity derivatives trading team. Before that, he spent time at Credit Suisse and Société Générale.
