Turkey top five banks

Istanbul-based Turkiye Is Bankasi is the largest bank in Turkey by Tier 1 capital, with $10.4bn of core capital. It is closely followed by Akbank, which has $9.6bn and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi, which has $9.3bn. While profits at these banks have historically been high, the country's lenders are now bracing themselves for the impact of regulatory measures aimed at curbing consumer lending.

The table was produced using The Banker Database, which provides comprehensive financial data, news feed and executive contact data for more than 5000 of the world's leading banks.
