Along with the launch of a number of new retail loan products, Baiduri offered customised mortgage loan schemes and introduced a third-party agency referral commission scheme, targeting property and insurance agents. The initiatives brought phenomenal results, with mortgage loan sales doubling in just one year.

Great results were also achieved in the card business through the acquisition of the American Express franchise in Brunei, which significantly increased its merchant base and gave Baiduri the opportunity to establish corporate banking relationships with major airline and hotel merchants.

The bank increased its focus on wealth management and offered a wider range of financial products while forging alliances with leading banks and fund managers in the region.
