15:30 BST: The evolving payments landscape: Frictionless, instant cross-border payments

The payments revolution continues with the landscape continuing to change and evolve. Accelerated by the pandemic, competition from emerging entrants, transformative technologies such as API and DLT, new monetary mechanisms like stablecoins and CBDCs as well as a focus on digitization, the payments landscape is changing at record pace.

The panel debate will focus on the evolution of instant cross-border payments, the role of domestic instant systems and the new focus from the G20 nations and central banks. What are the areas of friction to tackle? What is the future of cross-border payment across the broader payments landscape? How can we make payments instant and friction-free? What are the next challenges and how can we solve them?
