Anne-Christine Champion – Société GénéraleSociété Générale has appointed Anne-Christine Champion to co-head its investment bank as part of a comprehensive restructuring of the bank’s senior management team introduced by incoming CEO Slawomir Krupa. She will manage the unit alongside Alexandre Fleury, who is being promoted from co-head of the bank’s global markets business. Ms Champion is currently co-head of corporate and investment banking at Natixis, a position she has held since 2020. She joined Natixis in 2002 as a member of its financial engineering department. The investment banking co-heads were announced alongside a newly created executive committee of 13 members led by Mr Krupa, current deputy CEO Philippe Aymerich and a second deputy CEO, Pierre Palmieri, who was previously head of the bank’s global banking and advisory unit. The restructuring will see the bank’s top management executives cut by half – down from 27, while seven of the 13 roles will be women. Marie-Christine Ducholet will join as head of the bank’s French retail network and Claire Dumas will continue as group chief financial officer. Commenting on the appointments, Mr Krupa states: “We are using the transition period set out by the board to propose a management structure and team designed to have the experience and expertise needed for the challenges ahead, which will require a focus on both efficiency and performance.”
