BBVA Banco Paraguay

BBVA Banco has gained the leading position in agricultural loans, the most important economy provider, and has achieved the overall strongest position in total loans.

Such strong activity growth has been accompanied by a significant asset increase, confirming BBVA’s determination to strengthen its market-leading position. The bank has achieved good financial results, too, thanks to its search for efficiencies, better understanding of customer needs and products focused on more profitable business lines.

“In the last years, BBVA-Paraguay has been able to combine strong increments of business figures, using risks standards and price of operations,” says Vincente Luis Bogliolo, executive chairman and MD of BBVA Banco. “In a country where the last five years the banking sector showed a NPL ratio of 17%, our bank has not gone higher than 2%. The results obtained allowed us to reach a high ROE, up to a 40% average. “The search for efficiency has been constant and the indices obtained were close to those of developed countries, thanks to the constant implementation of technological innovation, in accordance with group-wide policies. The contribution of BBVA to Paraguay is reflected in it obtaining the most important quote of the financial markets in agricultural activities, which is the main local economic sector.”
